“James and the Giant Peach” - Roald Dahl

🍑 Another fun, family read brought to you by the inimitable Mr. Dahl! We enjoyed the audiobook as read by Julian Rind-Thutt. It includes fun sound effects! School drop-offs were a riot.

🍑 For those not familiar, this book is fairly lighthearted, and has aged well. Young James, is a relatable boy, who’s been orphaned and living with terrible relatives. He’s basically reeling from the tragedy of losing his parents, and existing in a world without fun, joy, or love. Aunts Sponge and Spiker are the worst, but they do meet a rather satisfying, squishy end, and James more than makes up for years of deprivation with a fantastical adventure filled with new friends.
