“The Tomb of the Honey Bee” - L. B. Hathaway

 (Posie Parker book 2)

🍯 I took this one along to listen to as an audiobook when we travelled to Egypt last year. Part III takes us to Luxor following the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. It coincided nicely with the IRL 100th anniversary of the discovery of that tomb, and our travels which included viewing the famed gold mask and other artifacts discovered in the tomb of Tutankhamun.

🍯 This review will be short and sweet. This is a fun little golden age mystery, and the added element of the romance gone awry between Posie and Len gives the reader something more beyond the mystery itself. Speaking of the mystery, I did find the plotting clumsy in places - such the cryptic clue which leads Posie to land in Ortigia, a remote Italian island, and then to the Valley of the Kings. It’s all a bit tenuous.

🍯 Posie is called upon by the sister of a famed explorer who has vanished without a word to his family or friends. While on that case, she becomes embroiled in a murder at an English country home in the Costwolds. The climax where all of the suspects are gathered at the country home, was very Aunt Agatha in nature.

🍯 Overall, it was enjoyable if not riveting. I have read 3 more Posie Parker novels since reading this one.
