“The No-Show” - Beth O’Leary
❤️🩹 This is a typical rom-com with some extremely clever plotting. Three markedly different women - Siobhan (pronounced “Shivon” - I learned something new) the sassy one, Miranda the sunny one, and Jane the damaged one are all involved with the same guy. The guy - Carter - seems more delusional than evil as the book progresses. His relationship with Miranda seems to be the one where he’s at max deceitfulness. Each of the women’s POVs is written with wildly divergent story lines which have you asking yourself mainly: what is the deal with Carter?!
❤️🩹 I am not a big fan of romances generally, but I’m glad I stuck with this one. I didn’t see the plot twist coming at all.
❤️🩹 Two random observations with TNS: 1) it’s the first book I’ve read with pandemic references (lockdown pods and zoom parties), and 2) I found it odd that everyone including lumberjacks sign off texts with “xx”.
