“The Dinner Lady Detectives” - Hannah Hendy

🥪 Dewstow is the setting for this cozy, English village, mystery. It’s certainly cozy as far as cozy mysteries go, but pretty light on the actual mystery. I’d say it’s the cast of characters that makes this one a fun read.

🥪 Margery and Clem are colleagues at the local secondary school’s lunch room (in the UK, they’re dinner ladies). They’re middle-aged and in a long-term relationship. With completely opposite personalities, they make an entertaining couple. More than the local mystery, I was most curious about whether Clem would finally take the plunge after a decades-long relationship with Margery, and agree to marriage.

🥪 The word “ginormous” appears 10 times too many, but it’s a minor quibble.
