“A Meditation on Murder” - Robert Thorogood

🌴Detective Inspector Richard Poole is our man grudgingly based on the tropical island of Saint-Marie. He is, in one word, neurotic; the sand and sea battling his fastidiousness at every turn.

🌴I felt that some plot points were whimsical and Poole’s Poirot-style denouement was long-winded. Still, it was a fun read. Interestingly, the novel is based on the tv show rather than the other way around. I didn’t quite follow how the murder occurred so maybe I’ll give the tv episode a watch to see if that elucidates the point.
