“The Burning Issue of the Day” - T. E. Kinsey

(Lady Hardcastle book 5)

🔥What I enjoy the most about this cozy mystery series is the amount of historical detail that Kinsey infuses in each novel.  TBID revolves around the women’s suffrage movement in England. Specifically, we learn about the coinage of the term “suffragette,” the tenets of the WSPU, and their eventual split from the suffragists.

🔥 The arguments made in TBID by various aristocrats, businessmen, and seemingly well-educated people against women’s suffrage, were actual arguments made in real life by such persons. I love this historical authenticity - it’s like the closest thing to primary source material we can find in a fictional narrative.

🔥For any legal eagles out there, an appearance is made by the Felony Murder rule.
