“A Fatal Winter” - G. M. Malliet

 (Max Tudor book 2)

❄️ I really enjoy this series; it’s great as an audiobook too! It’s soothing and totally safe to listen with little ears in the vicinity.

❄️ Max does tend to wax poetic over Awena. It’s mildly annoying, but also cute. Max can’t be all debonair, James Bondesque country village vicar, all the time. It’s nice to see a moon-eyed gaga side to him.

❄️ The set up for AFW is my most favorite: a closed castle, where suspects must remain cloistered until the murder is solved. The residents of Chedrow castle are a very strange family, at baseline, but now a murderer lurks among them. Eeek!

❄️ I love this pop culture reference tossed in by Malliet, probably because I love Suzy Eddie Izzard’s comedy. This quote gave me an exact idea of the situation faced by Father Max.
