“Death of a Traveling Man” - M. C. Beaton

(Hamish Macbeth book 9)

🧳 Poor Hamish. He intuitively recognizes a problem person, but most of Lochdubh is duped. Hamish isn’t lazy, per se. He is willing to put in the work, but his desires are simple comforts. he doesn’t want a promotion that would alter his content existence.

🧳 Even Priscilla rails against hin for lacking ambition - she does this often, but this time she’s particularly harsh. His response to her is also harsh. He’s had it with being pushed to be someone he is not. I was on my seat’s edge about what would happen with them.
