“A Murder of Crows” - Sarah Yarwood-Lovett
(Dr. Nell Ward book 1)
🦇 It’s an unusual British cozy mystery series wherein the author’s career as an ecologist makes itself known throughout the novel with lots of technical chatter, and even a pivotal plot point.
🦇 The courtroom drama was a bit … batty (pun intended), but there’s a love triangle situation that’s unresolved in book, and as far as I can tell it’s even odds between the 2 contenders.
🦇 While we certainly like our heroine, and she has been unfairly treated in her past, it is tough to get over her hot/cold relationship with her own wealth and privilege. She carefully hides her background at work to earn her stripes based on merit which is commendable, but has the high-powered “fixer” on speed dial when the going gets tough.
