“Superfudge” - Judy Blume

 (Fudge book 2)

🪱 Continuing with the 2nd grade classics; another Judy Blume favorite! Poor Peter has a lot to cope with - a move and the arrival of a younger Hatcher to rival Fudge?

🪱 If you’re a parent of school-age kids freaking out over school changes and what this may mean for your child, this book might ease your stress a jot. After all, the Hatchers are plucking Peter out of his elementary school for 5th grade, and Fudge for kinder, moving to Princeton for Mr. Hatcher’s sabbatical, with plans of returning to New York at the end of the year. My point? Maybe we all take a collective breath, evaluate our reasons, and go with the flow like the Hatchers. The kids will be alright.

🪱 Another parenting note: I was pleased to note that Mr. Hatcher made tentative steps to being amore involved father in “Superfudge”. In TOFGN he didn’t know where Mrs. H “hid” the peanut butter in his own kitchen, he missed Fudge’s birthday party, and struggled mightily for 2 days alone with the kids.
