“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” - J. K. Rowling

⚡️I’ve not got much to add here that hasn’t been said a million times  by others in the Potterverse. We were excited to near the end of the saga though we knew we still had much ground to cover, and many battles yet to be fought. HBP is the most mature and emotionally layered book in the series so far. Bittersweet themes of fading innocence are woven throughout.

⚡️HBP is rich in detail about student life at Hogwarts; I think my then-tween found this relatable and particularly engrossing.

⚡️Also HBP provides Tom Riddle’s backstory in full detail which is touched upon ever so briefly in the films.

For anyone who’s only seen the films, these are 2 opportunities to immerse yourselves deeper into the Potterverse that the films simply cannot provide.
