“Ramona and Her Father” - Beverly Cleary
(Ramona book 4)
🏠 This is a quieter, heavier book than the previous books in the Ramona series. RAHF tackles a parent’s job loss and the resultant financial insecurity from the POV of a child. While the adults do their best to shield Beezus and Ramona, naturally they feel uneasy. It’s interesting how each of the girls copes.
🏠Adult worries feel so big and Ramona desperately wants to make things better. It’s hard for a child to watch her Dad struggle. Ramona helps in the only way she can, and you can feel that Mr. Quimby appreciates it.
🏠 The overall theme of RAHF is finding small things to be hopeful about in difficult circumstances.
